Dimethicon is een kleurloze transparante dimethylsiloxaanvloeistof, met goede isolatie, hoge waterbestendigheid, hoge afschuiving, hoge samendrukbaarheid, hoge dispersie en lage oppervlaktespanning, lage reactiviteit, lage dampdruk, goede hittestabiliteit en egaliserende eigenschappen. RH-201-1.5 is oplosbaar in de meeste oplosmiddelen en is goed verenigbaar met de meeste cosmetische componenten. Het wordt veel gebruikt in producten voor persoonlijke verzorging. Het heeft een goede dispergeerbaarheid, geen residu of sediment, geen vettig gevoel en maakt de huid zacht en glad.
